The McDowell Trail Association is pleased to host its 3rd Annual MTA Triathlon at Lake James on May 19, 2012 at the new Paddy's Creek Section of Lake James State Park. The triathlon consists of a 750 meter lake swim, 22 mile ride, and 5K run.
64 individuals and 6 teams took part in last year's event, which took place under nearly perfect conditions. As expected, the move to May brought with it cooler weather and even faster times.
The venue is breathtaking, with views of Lake James visible from almost everywhere on the course. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or new to the triathlon experience, this is a must-do event.
Once again in 2012: USAT sanctioning and professional event management provided by Blue Ridge Multi Sports. Online registration is open now!

Registration is available onsite at the Paddy's Creek Section of Lake James from 5:30pm to 7:00pm Friday night and from 6:00am - 7:30am race day. We hope to see you here!
